Publishing and Writing Law

Issues related to publishing and writing law have always been with us but with the rise of the Internet, those issues have been accentuated and indeed, new issues have arisen.   Attorneys need to be familiar with the numerous and complex issues that arise at the junction of contract law, copyright law, trademark law and Internet law.   This course is not only about all those issues but significantly, about how to help clients make money from their intellectual property.  The “mantra” should be “own everything.”

Faculty:
Ivan Hoffman is now in his 42nd year of practice. His work deals with Entertainment Law, Internet Law and Intellectual Property Law (music, records, films, television, Internet Law, authors, publishers, web site designers, site owners) including issues related to copyrights, trademarks, licensing, agreements and similar matters.

Mr. Hoffman has taught widely about these topics including at UCLA Extension and published numerous articles.
