Wage and Hour 2020 - Session One: Overview and PAGA teleConference

Wage & Hour Update and PAGA is the first part in Bridgeport's Wage & Hour Series. Bridgeport’s annual Wage & Hour Update explores and explains in-depth, the critical and changing aspects of Wage & Hour litigation.  This year's program will focus on AB 5 and Prop 22, the ever increasing use of PAGA in wage and hour litigation; key developments in the case law such as Uber & Lyft, Duran; Iskanian; Ayala, interpreting the white collar exemptions, New Legislation, Regulations and Statutes and the enforcement and litigation of arbitration agreements.   The unique format for the program will feature an explanation and then discussion of the aforementioned topics. Session 1 will provide an update and overview of important Wage & Hour Issues that affect California employers and Employees. The Session will also include an in-depth look and discussion at PAGA and it's use in California.  This 3 hour teleConference will provide plaintiff, defense, in house and government counsel with the latest thinking.

Faculty:

Timothy Long is a Shareholder at Greenberg Trauig. He has has deep experience litigating complex labor and employment issues, having served as lead counsel in multiple class, collective, and representative actions and advising on dozens more. Tim has litigated virtually every wage-and-hour issue there is, including exemption, incentive compensation, independent contractor, off-the-clock, meal and rest, pay practice, and PAGA claims.

Hunter Pyle is one of California's leading employment attorneys who represents employees. handles all types of employment litigation, including class actions, jury trials, wage claims, and unemployment insurance hearings. He has represented clients in wrongful termination/discrimination cases. Mr. Pyle writes, speaks and teaches other lawyers about employment law and trial advocacy.
Mia Farber is a Principal in the Los Angeles, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. and a former member of the firm's Board of Directors. She currently leads the firm’s California Class and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) Resource Group. She has extensive experience in all facets of employment litigation.

Glenn Danas brings over a decade of experience to Robins Kaplan’s national Appellate Advocacy and Guidance Group. n 2017 Glenn was named among the “Top 100 Attorneys in California” by the Daily Journal, and in 2015, Glenn’s work on Iskanian v. CLS Transportation Los Angeles earned him a California Lawyer Attorney of the Year (“CLAY”) award from California Lawyermagazine. Glenn was also named one of the “Top 20 Attorneys in California under 40” in 2013 by the Daily Journal, and has been named one of the “Top Labor and Employment Attorneys in California” by the Daily Journal each year from 2015-2018.

Marcus J. Bradley is the founder and senior partner of Bradley/Grombacher LLP in Westlake Village, California. An accomplished trial attorney with more than 22 years of litigation experience, Mark represents clients in matters including complex employment, consumer litigation, class actions, mass torts, product liability, personal injury, and more. Bradley is well know and a tireless advocate for his clients.

Christina Humphrey is the founder of Christina Humphrey Law, P.C. she specialized in highly complex litigation including employment and consumer class actions.  During the tenure at her former firm, Ms. Humphrey was instrumental in recovering over $800 million on behalf of workers and consumers. Ms. Humphrey primarily focuses her practice on litigation, complex individual claims including wage theft, discrimination, harassment, whistleblower retaliation, employment and consumer class actions.

This program is approved for 3 hrs of CA MCLE general credit hours.

Bridgeport is a State Bar of CA provider of MCLE (Provider 11872) This program offers 3 hrs of MCLE. Bridgeport will assist attorneys from outside CA obtain CLE in accordance with the rules of their state.
