Where do I clock-in now? A discussion about remote employee compliance with timekeeping policies and other current off-the-clock work topics in the Covid era will feature a panel of experts discussing compensable time issues raised by Covid across industries, as well as existing common areas of dispute (e.g., security checks, walking/travel time, computer boot-up, driving, and donning and doffing PPE.) The panel will present case studies, research findings regarding employee timekeeping behavior, and research from the employer’s perspective. In addition, panelists will share strategies to reduce the risk of violations and maintain employee timekeeping compliance in a range of workplace environments.
Faculty Doug Farmer is a shareholder in the firm’s San Francisco office. He has served as lead defense counsel to major California employers in nearly a hundred wage and hour class actions. He has tried to verdict a wide variety of employment cases in California state and federal courts, including wage and hour, disability discrimination, FMLA/CFRA, sexual harassment, age discrimination, pregnancy discrimination and other wrongful termination matters. |
