The Wage and Hour landscape continues to shift, with major developments in federal and state law this year thanks to seismic decisions from the U.S. and California Supreme Courts, along with new legislation and administrative guidance. Bridgeport’s annual conference explores and explains in-depth, the critical and changing aspects of Wage & Hour law litigation. The webinar reviews best practices for plaintiffs to meet the 30(b)(6) notice requirements, effectively question the corporate representative, deal with difficult representatives, and defend objections. Class Actions, like many legal proceedings, have taken a new course in 2021. Cases Involving Canceled Travel, Entertainment, and Sporting Events, as well as Recurring Fees are being filed daily. There have been notable developments in 2021 affecting class actions including important decisions relating to TCPA Class Actions, Article III Standing and Rule 23. Cases such as TransUnion LLC v. Knowing the difference between proper and improper objections in a deposition can help lawyers better represent their clients. Attorneys are familiar with the basic grounds for objection. The key is to know the specific grounds for objections, and when it is most advantageous to use them. It is critical to discern which objections matter, and which objections can be ignored. Developing a systematic approach to deal with deposition objections is a necessary skill for litigators. We will explore both authority and guidance for some of the trickier objections commonly heard at depositions.   This program focuses on the process, best use and importance of mastering objections during depositions.
